This was my Mom's recipe for Spaghetti Sauce.
RICH SPAGHETTI SAUCE
3 Tablespoons salad oil
1 clove garlic
3 cups chopped onion
1 lb. ground beef
8 ounce can tomato sauce
1 cup water
2 cups tomatoes (#2 can)
3 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/8 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon sugar
dash pepper or hot sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Heat oil, add garlic and saut until golden.
Remove garlic from oil. Add onions and beef. Cook till light brown.
Add remaining ingredients and cover. Simmer 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally. Uncover and simmer 1/2 hour more.
