Recipe: Samuel Adams Marinated Shrimp (using beer)

SAMUEL ADAMS MARINATED SHRIMP

2 pounds large raw shrimp in the shell
1/2 cup olive oil
2/3 cup Samuel Adams Boston Lager or similar beer
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 large cloves garlic, crushed
1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil (or 2 teaspoons dried basil)
Dash (or 2) Louisiana hot-pepper sauce
Bamboo skewers

Shell and clean shrimp; rinse and pat dry.

Blend oil, beer, lemon juice, garlic, green onion, basil and hot-pepper sauce. Add shrimp and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and marinate in refrigerator 4 to 8 hours.

WHEN READY TO COOK:
At least an hour before serving time, soak bamboo skewers in water.

Spear shrimp on water-soaked skewers and barbecue or broil until shrimp turns pink.
