Recipe: Schnitzel Beans (not snipple beans)

 Hi Deb, I hope this is close to what you're looking for...

Schnitzel Beans 
Recipe By : The Little Mountain Bean Bible Cookbook 
Servings : 6 

1 1/2 quarts green beans, cut 
2 tablespoons chopped bacon
1 tablespoon shortening 
3 medium onions, sliced 
4 medium tomatoes, sliced 
1 teaspoon salt 
1 cup hot water 
dash red pepper 

Fry bacon crisp; add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour. Add water as needed.
