Seven-layer (24 hour) Salad

1 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 lb bacon, fried crisply
1 large sweet onion, chopped finely
1 large cucumber, peeled and diced
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 6 ounce package of frozen green peas, thawed
1/2 cup mayonnaise or Ranch dressing

In a glass bowl, place shredded lettuce. Cover with a layer of cucumber, then onion, then peas, then mayonnaise. Top mayonnaise with bacon and cheese. Refrigerate overnight, and serve.
