Recipe(tried): Some water bath tips
Misc.Hi Barb:
To cook in a water bath, you place the dish or the mold containing your ingredients into the pan of water, so that the bottom of the dish sits in the hot water. Be careful that the water level stays at least 1/2 inch ( or 1 cm) below the top of the dish so that the water doesn't get into your recipe. A water bath can be done on the stove top or in the oven.
When a recipe has to be cooked in a water bath in the oven, to avoid danger put the water bath into the oven and set at the correct temperature as soon as you start making the recipe. While you are preparing the rest of the recipe, the water will have time to get to the proper temperature.
Then the only thing left to do is to put the dish containing your recipe into the water bath to cook. Remove your finished pan or mold from the water bath when the dish is cooked. It is a good idea to let the water bath cool off completely in the oven before you take it out of the oven.
Good Luck to you, Barb. Kel
