Recipe: Suggestions for Freeze Ahead Meals - Hi Amy & welcome!

Recipe Collections
And congratulations on finding a job in today's job market! I don't know where to start - meatloaf is always good, meatballs meatballs and when you come home, just add a jar of sauce and simmer for awhile before serving over pasta. Chicken dishes do well. I'm never really fond of things with frozen veggies like carrots, and potatoes do not freeze well at all. They turn mushy.

Soups and stews freeze well. Beef Burgundy which you can warm up and serve over egg noodles.

Have you got a crockpot? I swear by them and use them at least twice a week for days when I'm going to be gone and want to come home to a meal already to eat. There are so many meals you can make in them, and you'll find them here if you just plug in crockpot recipes/slowcooker recipes on the search box.

I've done pulled pork in the crockpot and then frozen it in smaller packages for later use.

People on this site have answered many requests for freezing meals, so wander around on the various Boards and check things out, put freezer meals into the search box and see what pops up - I'm sure something will!

Enjoy your new job and encourage your family to help you out by having the table set and maybe even some preliminary prep work done, if they're old enough to help that way. It's good to teach everyone to contribute to the family unit in whatever way they are able.

Best wishes and visit often.
