Recipe(tried): Sunday Dinner at Our House - Sirloin Steak with Vegetables, Mushroom Baked Rice, Microwave Corn on the Cob

Menus
Today we had delicious produce for lunch. I visited our favorite vegetable market yesterday and bought beautiful yellow and red bell peppers, Texas sweet onions, Florida tomatoes, Florida corn, broccoli, etc. The list goes on and on. This is what we had for lunch today: sirloin steak with vegetables, zipper cream peas, mushroom baked rice, microwave corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes, croissants, sweet tea with lemon, and fresh strawberries, angel food cake, and whipped cream.

SIRLOIN STEAK WITH VEGETABLES

Marinade
2 sirloin steaks, cut into serving sizes
1 bottle of Hellman's Ruby Red Ginger Salad Dressing
4 Tbsp. soy sauce
5 Tbsp. lime juice
2 Tbsp. minced garlic
4 Tbsp. sesame seeds

1 Reynolds Aluminum Hot Bag
1 Tbsp. flour
1 red bell pepper, sliced thinly
1 onion, sliced thinly

Place the steak pieces into the plastic bag. Combine the marinade ingredients and pour over the steak. Refrigerate and marinate overnight.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a Reynolds Aluminum Hot Bag, place 1 T. flour and shake. Remove the steak from the marinade and place in the aluminum bag. Slice one onion thinly and one red pepper. Place the vegetables on top of the steak pieces. Bake in the oven for 1 hour. When finished cooking, remove the bag from the oven and slit open the top. Let the steam escape from the bag before removing steak and vegetables.

MUSHROOM BAKED RICE

2 cans Swanson Onion Seasoned Beef Broth
1/4 cup white wine
enough water added to the beef broth and white wine to make 5 cups of liquid
1 can mushrooms, drained
2 cups Uncle Ben's Rice

Pour the liquid into a large microwave-safe bowl and mix thoroughly. Let cook on HIGH for 15 minutes. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the liquid. Add the rice and the mushrooms. Cook the rice and the mushrooms for 17 minutes in the microwave or until all liquid has been absorbed.

MICROWAVE CORN ON THE COB

3 ears of corn--unshucked

Make sure that the corn has no bad spots on the husks. Pull back the top of the top of the corn to make sure that there are no bugs, etc. If the corn is "clear," put the corn into the microwave for 6 minutes. Remove the corn with dishtowels and remove the silks and the husks. Serve with butter, salt, and pepper.

Happy Sunday!
