Recipe(tried): Toffee Banana Bread

Toffee Banana Bread

3/4 cup butter-flavored shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 to 5 large ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup toffee bits (such as crumbled Heath Bars or Skor Bars)

1. Grease and lightly flour 2 loaf pans.

2. In a mixing bowl cream together the shortening and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix until creamy.

3. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Fold in the mashed bananas and the toffee bits. Pour the mixture into the prepared pans. Bake in a 350 F oven for 1 hour. Makes 2 loaves.
