Recipe: Trail Mix
Appetizers and SnacksTRAIL MIX
1 cup thin pretzel sticks
1/2 cup salted peanuts
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup round oat cereal (such as Cheerios)
1 cup square wheat cereal (such as Wheat Chex)
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.
Put pretzels, peanuts, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover the bowl and heat it in the microwave for 60 seconds on high.
In a large baking dish, combine cereals, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic salt.
Use oven mitts to pour the hot butter-pretzel mixture over the cereal mixture. Mix everything well and spread evenly over the bottom of the baking dish. Use oven mitts to place the baking dish in the hot oven.
Bake for 30 minutes, stirring once or twice. Let the trail mix cool.
Yield: 3 1/2 cups.
