Recipe(tried): Turkey Hill Iced Tea - Got close

Beverages
TURKEY HILL ICED TEA
(copycat recipe)

I got close to it, still trying...

1 gallon hot tap water*
1 large Lipton tea bag (gallon size iced tea bag) 4 small would work.
4 scoops 4C lemonade mix
1 1/2 cups sugar (see note)

Let the tea steep in the hot tap water. This is the important part.. If you boil the tea bags it will get bitter using hot tap water will release the flavor of the tea but not give you that bitter taste people like in traditional sweet tea.

Once the tea it good and dark remove the tea bag and add the rest of the ingredients. Let it sit in the refrigerator for a day.. It sounds odd but it give the sugar a change to really dissolve and it actually changes the flavor.

Please note: When i made this it came out really sweet so im going to try it again with only 1 1/4 cups of sugar. I felt the lemon taste was right on but the tea tasted a little week. this could be due to the sugar but it may need more time to steep or 2 bags. Play around and get it how you like it.

MINT VARIATION:
Another good alternative is 4 black tea bags (Lipton) 2 mint (bigelow plantation mint) 1 gallon water, 2 cups sugar. Same as above let it steep on the counter in hot tap water, and the sugar and refrigerate for a day. Again i like my tea sweet so adjust the sugar as needed.

*A final note is soda companies use filtered water. If you have 'city' water you might get an off flavor from the chlorine additive the pump in.. If so try filtered or the cheap gallons of bottle watered.
