Recipe: Two Recipes for Sheila/ Florida - Baked Cinnamon Almond French Toast, Almond and Cinnamon French Toast

Goose N Berry Inn Baked Cinnamon Almond French Toast

This is the most requested recipe from our guests. All returning guests ask ahead of time if we'll serve our French Toast.
2 cups light brown sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
4 tablespoons flavoring of almond or hazelnut
4 eggs
1 3/4 cups milk
1 loaf Italian or French Bread cut into 1 inch thick slices
Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375. Place brown sugar into 13 x 8 inch baking dish. Melt butter or margarine in microwave. Blend brown sugar, melted butter and 2 tablespoons flavoring until its makes a glaze in bottom of baking dish. Whisk eggs, milk and remaining flavoring in a shallow bowl until well blended. Dip each bread slice into egg mixture, soaking both sides. Set bread on top of brown sugar mixture in baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with cinnamon to taste. (At this point you can refrigerate or freeze). Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Flip each slice of bread over so glazed side is up. Serve hot. Serves 6.
Almond and Cinnamon French Toast
Recipe from Swan House South Bed & Breakfast
4 eggs
1/2 cup almond syrup (coffee flavorings) or Amaretto liqueur
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup Half & Half
6 large croissants
Powdered sugar
Thinly sliced almonds
Mix eggs, almond syrup, cinnamon and Half & Half well with blender. Cut croissants (frozen), in half. Dip croissants in egg mixture and put on hot griddle. Serve with maple syrup or honey butter syrup. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and thin sliced almonds. Top with sliced kiwi or berries. Serves: 4
