Recipe(tried): Very good recipe from an old cookbook
Misc.I feel lucky to have found this recipe. I have made it oftenl
Best Ever Cookies
1 1/2 C. sugar (could use 1 C. and the other half cup to roll cookies in.)
1 C. shortening. (I like to use half margarine and half Crisco.)
3 eggs
1 1/2 C. raisins (Cook in 1 C. of water until the water is soaked away.)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 C. flour
Cool the cooked raisins and add to the other ingredients.
Roll tsp. or more of dough in 1/2 C. of the sugar to form a ball.
Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 10 to 15 min. in 350 degree oven.
Cookies will be white with a light browning. You can add more flour if the dough flattens too much while baking.
