VINEGAR DUMPLINGS
Preheat oven to 350 deg.
4 OR 5 CUPS FLOUR
2/3 CUP SHORTENING
1 TEASPOON SALT
4 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
1 AND 1/2 CUPS MILK
1/2 STICK (4 T) MARGARINE
1/2 CUP SUGAR
CINNAMON
1 TABLESPOON FLOUR
2 CUPS VINEGAR
2 CUPS WATER
2 CUPS SUGAR
Cut shortening into sifted flour, salt and baking powder. Stir in milk and roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Soften margarine, spread over dough.
Sprinkle cinnamon over entire dough. Next sprinkle sugar over dough and roll up as for cinnamon rolls in 1-inch slices.
Place in a pan so they just touch each other. Sprinkle with 1 Tablespoon flour.
Combine vinegar, water and 2 cups sugar, making sure sugar is dissolved. Pour over dumplings.
Bake at 350 degrees until brown.
