Recipe: Walnut Cranberry Cookies (using dried cranberries, oats, and corn flakes)

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups oats
2 cups cornflakes
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.
In a mixer, cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and blend well. Mix in baking soda dissolved in hot water.
In a small bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, and salt and add it, a little at a time, to the shortening mixture. Mix in oats, dried cranberries, and walnuts. Drop by teaspoonful onto prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden.
