ISO: Bottled chopped tomato relish

Misc.
I love tomatoes and eat lots of them, but I have too many now. I want to bottle and preserve the ones I can't eat before they get too old - as a plain chopped tomatoe relish. How do I do this? What precautions do I need to take in cleaning the jars to make sure they last? How do I prepare the tomatoes?
