ISO: Canned Peaches Floated to Top - Please Help! Canning Questions

Misc.
Hello everyone! I have read a lot of the other posts and have found a lot of useful information. I have made jams and jellies but this is my first time with peaches. I would like to do pears as well.
Last night I canned some peaches. I followed the recipe, cooked the peaches in the syrup, placed the peaches cut side down in wide mouth jars. I spent a while getting air bubbles out. I left 1/2 inch head space and processed for 25 minutes. When I removed the jars and afer they cooled I tested the seals and all jars were sealed.
So the problem- all of the peaches floated to the top and it seems the airspace that was left at the top has re-distributed throughout the jar. There are small air bubbles here and there.
What did I do wrong? Will they be safe to store? I thought that I had them crammed in pretty tight but I guess not.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
