ISO: Chocolate Chip Bread with Dates

I am looking for a recipe I used to cook many years ago, for a Chocolate Chip bread that had dates in it, you soaked the dates in baking soda water. It made a large loaf. That is all I remember, but it became a family favorite and the recipe has been lost over the years. Thanks for your help
