ISO: Cleaning baking stone

Misc.

I bake lots of home-made pizzas. I started with the most gorgeous baking stone
given to me by my friend when I lived in Seattle. Needless to say, pizza often has cheese drippings that back on. I struggled with mine for two years, until I learned that to make it look brand new, simply run your oven on "self-clean" with the stone inside. It will come out with a light gray ash on top, but I just scoot that off with a paper towel and it is just like new.

Hope this helps!

Lynne
