ISO: Cranberry Buns - can the dough be frozen

There is a wonderful recipe from this site called Cranberry Buns from Katie Moose's book Nantucket Bounty. It is a yeast based bun. I've not worked with yeast before and am wondering if I can make the dough in advance and freeze it until ready to use for Thanksgiving. Any experience with this and advice is much appreciated!
