ISO: Freezing Corn on the Cob -- in husk

Misc.
I would like to try freezing corn on the cob in the husk. I keep reading conflicting info about whether or not this is safe. Has anyone actually tried this? Was the corn texture any more crisp than using the blanching method? I have frozen many ears using several methods and different blanching times. I don't like the "mushy" texture that the corn always seems to have after being cooked from the freezer. Any suggestions in maintaining the fresh crisp flavor and texture??
