ISO: Grated Potato Dumplings

my dad used to make a potato macaroni out of grated raw potatoes mixed with flour. he would drop them into boiling water and wait for them to rise to the top. once done he would mix them with cottage cheese or tomato sauce and bacon bits.
does anyone know of this recipe?
