ISO: Great soup! (Gingered Wild Yam and Pumpkin Bisque)

Misc.
My husband and I just spent a couple days in town running errands, seeing a movie and eating! We tried a restaurant we have been wanting to try for years, Havana Cafe. We shared a couple Cuban Tapas dishes: Sweet Potatoe fries and Frituras de Camarones (shrimp pancakes) and liked them, but the soup we shared, a seasonal one, according to the waiter, was outstanding. It was called Gingered Wild Yam and Pumpkin Bisque. Does anyone out there have a recipe that might be close to this? While I like Pumpkin Soup and have made several different ones, my husband finds them too, well, "pumpkiny". This one was very pale (perhaps cream) and had a subtle pumpkin taste. The ginger was not overpowering, either. We plan to go back soon, as there were so many interesting things on the menu, but fear that the soup will not be available again until next fall/winter, so want to try and recreate it at home. Thanks.
