ISO: How to convert all-purpose flour to self-rising flour

I would like to make a recipe which requires that I use self-rising flour which I do not have but I do have all-purpose flour. If I add some baking powder (or b. soda, and how much), will that convert the all-purpose flour to self-rising flour Please advise, thanks.
