ISO: Italian Cookie Recipe (biscotti)
Misc.Many years agos I worked in a kitchen with a lady fresh from Italy. She gave me
a recipe called (naturally) Italian Christmas Cookies. She spoke very little
English and we had a time understanding each other, but she was sweet and
gentle, and I dearly loved her. Her name was Irene. Later I found that the
name for her cookies was Biscotti. They were made with candied citron and nuts.
I lost the recipe last year, and am desparate to get another one as close to it
as possible. Could any of you fine bakers out there come up with a Christmas
Biscotti for me? I would be eternally gratefully.
