ISO: Meringue cake

Hi, about 25 years ago I went to the american club bazaar in Brussels and at one stand they sold slices of a cake which was flat with a meringue on top of a sponge sprinkled with almonds, the girl said it was a swedish reciepe,it was beautiful but she would not part with the reciepe, does anybody know what I'm talking about. I would love to have it.
