ISO: Old recipe for tube cake using red flavoring bottled in South
Misc.I used to make this cake 30 years ago and would love to make it again. It is a yellow cake, baked in a tube pan. The special ingredient was a bottled flavoring (maybe almond, tho not sure) that was made in the South. I had to send payment and it was shipped to me. The flavoring is a deep red color and, as I recall, a little thick and the recipe called for only about 2 TBSP. The bottle said that it was a traditional Southern flavoring. Can anyone help? It's a wonderful cake! Thanks!
