ISO: Question for Jackie/MA

Now that I look at the recipes for sour cream cake, I have a question on the second one you posted. It ends with 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 2 cups of flour. Do the walnuts go into the cake batter or are they only for sprinkling on top? And if they're for the top, how much sugar do you use?
