ISO: Question: make a mix substitution of shortening
Misc.Hello all, I have just purchased the new edition of Make a Mix and have read I can substitute vegetable oil for the shortening and add it at the time I use the mix for a recipe. I cannot however find out how much I need to add. Do I just divide the total amount of mix by the amount I am using at the time and then divide the amount of oil accordingly? Does oil equate exactly to the amount of shortening? I really need some guidance here as I definitely do not want to feed my family something gross. Thanks, Daphne.
