ISO: Seviche made with canned tuna

Misc.
When my son lived in Arizona his Mexican friends would take him home and feed him some terrific meals. Yesterday, he was telling me about Seviche, made with canned tuna fish. I really like homemade Seviche, but the fish needed for the recipe is about $12.99 per pound here... which is way out of my price range. Have any of you ever made or heard of this recipe?
