Dear Nicole,

You posted a recipe for Stottie Cakes 21st June 2000. I have recently been searching for such a recipe and found one this morning from someone claiming that his/her grandmother made it, posted 7th August 2007. Curious to know if there were any others 'out there' I did another search this evening and came up with yours. As I was reading it, I thought I've read this before, word-for-word,here's the link to it:
http://www.mydish.co.uk/recipe/295. I suppose a recipe has to start somewhere and perhaps it did originate from the same cookery book. Anyway, I am a Geordie living in South Wales now (50 years) and I've been searching for this type of recipe for ages. I am eager to try it out and surprise my 84yr old dad. Wish me luck. Do you have 'Geordie' connections.
Regards.
