ISO: Substitute for Durkee Dressing and Sandwich Spread (that doesn't use a double boiler)

I need your help. At $4.79 for a 6 oz bottle, it is starting to get ridiculous. So, I need your help. My mother has an amazing pasta salad that she got from a restaurant. It uses two things in its marinade: Bernstein's italian dressing and Durkee Dressing and sandwich spread. The Durkee is what is shooting up in price for not a very big bottle. I've looked online, and I've found recipes, but they all use a double boiler (which I haven't found successfully for any reasonable price). But, there has to be another way, an easier way without cooking a whole new sauce. Any advice? Any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate it.
