ISO: Woodsford Pudding
Misc.I am trying desperately to find an old old I believe English recipe for a dessert called Woodsford Pudding. My Nanny (grandma) that passed away 30 years ago made it for her family frequently when I was a child. It was my uncles favorite dessert. It was more like an extremely rich CAKE with an even richer sauce on top. Although it was called "pudding". I asked several times for the recipe but never got it all. To my knowledge she never wrote it down because she had made it most of her life. The MAIN ingredient was blackberry jam. After baking, it was topped with meringue and browned. Then in a double boiler made a sinful sauce to go on top. I DO have the ingredients for the sauce. Butter, sugar and real cream. The ingredients that she gave me at different times with NO amounts, never included eggs that I can find, but it may have. I would appreciate and help you may have. I suppose I waited until she was too old to recall to appreciate what I was missing. Thank you in advance.
