Thanks for the advice. I too have a bag full of apples to use up. I was thinking of making apple pie filling to give as gifts this Christmas. Do you have any other creative ideas for apples?
Also, I have a huge amount of pears and didn't necessarily want to just can them in syrup. Do you have any ideas there?
