Thank You: Jack Rabbit Split Pea Soup recipe - THANK YOU!

I was THRILLED to find that someone had posted the original recipe from the bag of Jack Rabbit brand split peas! No stores in my area carry the brand anymore and I thought perhaps the company went out of business. (Do you know if the company is still around??)

The recipe on the bag was the base recipe for what I always used to start my Split Pea Soup. Of course I had not saved any of the old bags, so I was rather upset to not be able to find a bag with the recipe!

Members of my extended family love the way I make my soup and request that I make some every time we have left over ham &/or a bone-in ham. I add cubed potatoes and more onion, carrot, & celery to mine and put at least some of the celery in when I start the soup, since we like the soup really thick.

Thanks a million!
Linda
