Thank You: June, thanks for a new pumpkin pie recipe to try!

Misc.
You mentioned going thru recipes and putting favorite holiday ones aside. That's just what I have been doing getting ready for the holidays and our annual Christmas Cookie Exchange. This will be the first Christmas without my Mom, so things are somewhat bittersweet. Last month I bought old fashioned donuts and apple cider. As I took a break in putting away the groceries and enjoyed a glass of cider and a donut, I realized this was the first year I had bought them. In the past I have only had them when at my parent's home, as my husband is not a fan of plain donuts or cider. Traditions are sometimes carried on almost subconciously! Today I made the Gingerbread Cutout Cookies I posted last week as I wanted to try out my new Pembroke Welsh Corgi cookie cutter. While speaking with a friend on the phone about my plans I realized that my Mother always made gingerbread men, I never really liked them! I frosted these with a lemon frosting that I use on my homemade gingersnaps and they are quite tasty. Wherever my Mother is, she is getting a good laugh! Thanks again for the pie recipe, I plan to put it to good use!
