Are they also called
Misc.rusks? My background is Norwegian ... and we used to buy these .... I haven't looked for them for a long time .... but will check when next I go to supermarket. They sound rather similar. My mother used to make some out of stale bread too ... I don't remember if she just sliced it and toasted in warm oven or what ... but taste was very similar (it's been MANY years) ... tho the shape was different.
