when I lived in the DR, I tried many times to make them, and no-one had a cookbook. When I asked people how to make them, they said "haga una masa". Um, ok. Not exactly descriptive, is it? And of course being of the gringa persuasion, any "masa" to me always contains wheat flour. And therein lies my first mistake, it would appear.

I'm going to make some tomorrow, thank-you so much, you're a peach (or better yet...a mango!)
