Cathy, ANZACS (biscuits) are make using butter, sugar golden syrup and rolled oats, flour and soda.
I think Janice's problem is that they go soft. They come out of the oven soft, harden when cool and then go soft when stored.

The other type of ANZACS are the Australian and New Zealand troops who fought in WW1 and WW2
