Dee, you've gotten a lot of good ...

Misc.

suggestions .... I heartily agree with them. Curb appeal is VERY important .... some people don't even want to go into a house if there is, say, unmowed lawn or messy garden, or the post light's glass is filthy, etc. The inside could be great ... but they're turned off.

We've sold all 3 of our houses very quickly -- 1 got 2 bids the 2nd day!

We've cleaned out before hand - if its not garage sale time, think about renting space in one of those monthly storage places. It is worth it. Sometimes we've taken 'extra' furniture there too. Also your windows ... be sure they shine - ad if possible have the sun shining in. It is depressing to go into houses with sheers, blinds and heavy drapes .... try for some openess.

Try to walk through your house as if you've never seen it ... and you'll notice a few things. Then have a good friend or co-worker do the same. One that you know will give you good suggestions ... and don't take offense.

Good luck - and quick sale!
