access to one of those wide-mouth small thermos bottles? My kids used to like stew or homemade soups for lunch - I know you said cold, but...

We did some stuff on the beach a lot this summer with big round water crackers that have now been "gourmet" flavored (cheese, garlic/herb) and we would make up batches of chicken salad (our own, not canned or bought in a deli) or tuna sald or ham salad, and bring it in little tupperware containers, then at lunch time spread it on the crackers. (I hate soggy sandwiches by lunchtime, no matter what they tell you to do, they always are soggy) Combined with fruit, cookies, "fish", etc. - nice lunch, but don't know whether that idea would be "uncool" with kids.d We also loved just having a fruit salad, and rolled up pieces of cold cuts for lunch on the beach. OR, same cold cuts, but with a tomato, cuke salad, will your kids eat salad? Wish I could be more help.

Love being back, Page!!
