finding old recipe collections

Library, maybe? I'll see if I can come up with a couple. Try Elizabeth David's Yeast Bread book - can't remember the exact title, but the library should have it. I have a couple of ancient texts on bread I'll check. Warning, though, those old "receipts" leave a lot to the imagination as far as technique and such. You really have to work with them and kind of know what you are doing to begin with.

Do you know any little old ladies who bake? I have loads in my church, and they are always thrilled to give me old recipes. They would be a good source as well.

Where in Florida are you, Becca? Anywhere near Palm Bay? I happen to know a very interesting "little old lady" (she'd kill me if she knew I called her that!) that is an outstanding bread baker. She might be able to help you, too, if you are close enough...
