Gina, I make zucchini everything, including bread, of course!

Misc.
I even grate them and freeze the grated stuff to use later in the year in casseroles, etc.

I had yellow zucchini plant as well as the green, but I guess it is a bit more tender, and altho it is not quite dead, it is not putting out any fruit that is usable.

My green zuke is quite a monster with tentacles spreading in 4 different directions. Quite the sight!

For the past few years, I have picked up a honking huge pot of mums from Costco. They do say autumn! Many people get them to come back the next year...I am not one of them. Luis thought I must be doing something wrong, and planted them out himself last year. This year, nothing...as per usual!

I think I will get some overwintering pansies for a change, this year. They are lovely, too, and in the spring they go crazy, spreading all over everywhere.

I also keep some primroses going right up next to the house, and they are very colourful. People are always touching them; "oh, they are real!". Very pretty, there are not too many flowers out in people's yards in January around here.

In my sunroom, I also can keep many things, such as geraniums. I am going to see if my beautiful hanging begonia can go the distance in the sunroom this year, too. It's quite a treat to see such a thing at X-mas time.

Luis just brought in a HUGE avocado plant to the sunroom, that he had out in the yard this summer. Like many people, he grew it from an avocado pit. But this one is over 6 ft now, unlike the little houseplants people keep on a window sill. Most impressive!

We are having lovely weather right now...into the 70's during the day, very pleasant weather for cleaning up the yard before the rainy winter weather socks us in!

Enjoy!

Carolyn!
