Hello again, Friends!
Misc.It has been quite a while since I posted here. I am glad to "see" that y'all are still here!
Kristin has graduated from the University of AL in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech/Language Pathology. She received her Masters' Degree in December of 2004 at UA. She has moved back home and is commuting to a nursing home near our house. She is a Speech and Language Pathologist. She loves working with older people and the nursing home is her absolute favorite place to work! When she did her clinicals for her masters' degree she spent 4 semesters working at a nursing home and one semester at a hospital. She preferred working with older people rather than working with younger people. After she graduated, the company who has the contract for the nursing home where she "interned," offered her a job. She has been working ever since.
I am so glad that she is nearer home. She was goin to take a job that would have kept her in Tuscaloosa, but she decided to come and be nearer home to us.
So far, she has been offered four different jobs, with the same company at different locations since she graduated! To say that her dad and I are proud would be an understatement!
School is going well. I will start my 28th year on August 1st. We have ANOTHER new principal! Since we had the same woman for 20 years, this has been a pleasant change.
MED, cream 40 peas are small, white peas that Kristin fell in love with when I bought some about 4 years ago. She prefers the cream 40 peas to the zipper peas, which are still my favorites! I found a place near our house which picked and shelled peas and butterbeans. I've "put up" four bushels of peas and one bushel of white butterbeans this summer. I've also "put up" several bags of corn on the cob.
Thanks for the warm welcome and I hope to post again really soon!
