hoisin sauce

some articles refer to it as the'chinese catchup' ... but it is more than that. Hope you can locate it.

Don't know where you live in MN, but I was visiting relatives in a small SE MN town in about '78. This was a town of 13 - 16,000. I went t the supermarket and found pita bread, won ton skins, phyllo dough and 3 or 4 other items that surprised me. In previous years when I'd visited -- I would lug things from the East coast as my relatives had NEVER heard of them! After that I wondered if they ever looked - or just waited for my visit!

hope you find-as it is wonderful addition to many things.
