Hot Toddy the Irish way

When I was in Ireland on a business trip I got horribly sick. I was in an airplane every day for at least 2 hours for 10 days and Dublin was my last stop. I was going from one country to the next, and it was always at the end of a hectic day.

ANYWAY, by the end of my trip I was in Ireland at a hotel where I stayed all the time and they knew me. When I came in they saw how sick I was and sent me to the pub in the hotel. The manager called down there and ordered a hot toddy for me.

It was Irish whiskey, sugar and hot water to taste. I quit coughing and was able to eat a little bit before going to bed. The next morning I had to get on the plane for the states (12 hour flight) and I started coughing again and the wonderful people on the plane kept this prescription going the entire flight.

I was told by the bartender to just do it to your personal taste otherwise you won't drink it!!!!
