Recipe: Pizza Burgers (using ground beef, Spam, mozzarella and tomato soup, freeze ahead

PIZZA BURGERS

1 lb. ground beef
3/4 lb. Spam
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of tomato soup
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion
1 tbsp. dried parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
12 to 18 hard rolls, cut in half or 24 French bread slices
Shredded mozzarella cheese (optional, for topping)

Brown ground beef in a skillet.

Grate Spam with cheese and add to browned hamburger; mix well. Add (undiluted) tomato soup, onion, parsley, cumin and oregano; mix together. Spread on rolls or French bread at least 1/4-inch thick. Place on cookie sheet.

Bake at 450 degrees F 10 to 15 minutes. If desired, top with additional cheese 5 minutes before taking out of oven.

TO FREEZE AHEAD:
Can freeze (without baking) but should thaw before baking.

Makes 12 to 18 servings (2 to 3 each)
