I remember Vienna sausages from the shelter!!!

Misc.

Hi Janet!

I can totally relate with you on the Spam and Vienna sausages. I live over on the west coast of Florida and in 1985 during hurricane Elena we got evacuated to a shelter. I'll never forget Red Cross serving two little sausages and I think it was some oatmeal or grits for breakfast. Ick! Now with my own family (I was still in high school then) I'd be interested in ideas too. Don't forget that manual can opener and feminine supplies and toilet paper - those seemed to be the things that got forgotten during Andrew from what I read.

Have a nice day!

Lori
