I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your day, Gladys:-)!

Misc.
The reason that I haven't been checking in too much lately was that we flew out to Colorado for my "baby's" college graduation. The celebration was much more extensive than the usual college graduation and really kind of did us in. We just aren't as young as we used to be:-(! We got up at 4 a.m. to catch our plane out of Hartford. We arrived in Colorado Springs around 1 p.m., had lunch and then walked in the Garden of the Gods with our 2 daughters. It was a gorgeous day and the Garden of the Gods is so beautiful:-)!! It was really nice being together as a family if only briefly. That night (Sat. night), there was a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. (That was 3 a.m. our time so we had been up for about 23 hours straight!!) The next morning, there was a reception for senior athletes that we went to (my daughter's both swam in college). The Baccalaureate was in the afternoon and Sunday night we went out to dinner at a wonderful restaurant, Blue Star, with her roommates and their families so, though we had a wonderful day, and the weather was beautiful, we were exhausted. Graduation was at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning so there was no sleeping in for the weary:-( During the graduation, a cold front blew in and the wind chill must have been down in the 30's. We were all really cold:-( Both of my girls were sick when we arrived and I started not feeling very well either. Unfortunately, my oldest and I missed our flight on Tues. so had to take later flights. I got home at 1:30 a.m. (It's about a 1 hour drive home from the airport) and went to bed at 3, after unwinding and unpacking a little - just what I needed for the next morning). I got up to go to work at 6:15 so was really worn out, to say the least:-( I probably should have called in sick but I felt like I had missed too much already, taking my 2 personal days for the graduation.) I spent the week not really feeling too wonderful. My daughter (the one who graduated) and my DH drove her car home. Her alternator gave out on her way out in August in the middle of nowhere Ohio (she has an '83 Volvo) so we decided that he should drive home with her in case anything happened which of course it didn't. They arrived home safely on Friday night, the 23rd. She was really sick so we were able to meet her doctor at the hospital on Sat. I had bronchitis and my daughter had bronchitis and a sinus infection so basically, other than getting her repacked to spend the summer in DC with her sister, we have been trying to recuperate. We are both feeling much better now after the Z pack (antibiotics) the doctor gave us worked it's wonders. Now, I'm just trying to make it through until the end of the school year which is June 17th for me. This year, I am really counting the days!!!
