Keetha...on food photography...

Misc.

I just witnessed a professional food photographer at work shooting my food for a website that I am constructing for my cookbook. I am also a professional photographer, but so much more detail goes into lighting food than you can imagine.

I can't tell you how to do it, all I can say is that lighting was everything. A lot of bounce lighting was used. And no food coloring was used. My dishes were photographed just as they are. Of course, there were props and linens added. I just used the freshest, most colorful ingredients I could find for raw produce. And spritzing with a water mister gives a fresh dish a lot of sparkle and life.

That's all the advice I can offer.
