Kunz Bakery Chocolate cake , Dayton Ohio

This chocolate cake has a distinct cooked carmel icing. Could it be flavored with maple or coffee? I am forever searching for it, I had this as a little girl in the late 60's, I believe Kunz (Kuntz) Bakery was also a cafeteria style eatery. This cake was very popular with family gatherings and club gatherings. Thankyou!
